Discover how to find books, scholarly articles, and news sources. Also learn to cite your sources and get help from a librarian.

Browsing the Library

Books in the library are organized by topic according to the Library of Congress Classification System. If you'd like to browse, see below for the the topic that interests you, head to that floor, and follow signs to the corresponding letter code for that topic (for example, P for literature). Click the topic links below to learn more about what kinds of books are in each area.

Searching for Books with OneSearch

1. Searching for books by title, author, or keyword in OneSearch on the library homepage

2. Filter the results to just books. Click "Resource Type" > "Books" for physical and ebooks.

3. A physical book will tell you where it is available in the library. In this case, the book is in Rosenthal on level 4. Then use the call number (GV1045.5 .N72 F565 2019). Go to the GV section, then scan for 1045.5, then N72.

4. Ebooks will appear as "Available online."
