Slavic Languages & Literature

This guide aims at introducing you to a variety of research sources available to you.

Start with:

  1. Select specific language within the field of Slavic Language & Literature. Choose a topic that is interesting to you and which will work within your assignment's parameters.
  2. Search the topic in any of the Reference Sources to gain basic understanding of the subject.

Continue with:

  1. Search for books in the  online library catalogs listed under Books.
  2. Search library databases for articles published in journals, magazines or newspapers listed under Articles & Databases.
  3. To request books not available here, use CLICS service for books available in CUNY Libraries or Interlibrary Loan for books outside of CUNY
  4. Consult Professional Organizations and Associations  or Web Resources  for any additional information on your subject.
  5. Remember to evaluate the accuracy of your resources, and think critically about their arguments. When in doubt, check with your instructor in the Russian Program.
  6. Consult the guides listed under Citation Style Manuals to correctly cite your sources.

Accessing QC library resources from off campus

 Off campus access to  library's electronic resources - ebooks, articles, databases, etc. - is limited to current QC students, staff, and  faculty. Consult Connecting from home  for details.
