There are two ways to look for books:

If you know the headings already, you can do a subject heading search.

In CUNY Catalog, you do this by choosing Subject begins with...

In OneSearch, you do this by clicking Browse Local Catalog on the top right.

Probably the most important subject heading here is:

• Ireland -- History

It is broken down into many different periods. These may take several forms:

• Centuries, as in: Ireland -- History -- 20th Century
• More specific ranges of years, as in: Ireland -- History -- 1910-1921
• Historical events, as in: Ireland -- History -- Easter Rising, 1916
• Types of resources, as in: Ireland -- History -- Encyclopedias

If you are not sure what subject heading to use, try a keyword search and check for appropriate headings.
