Census & ACS Data Profiles

Another website from NYC City Planning that provides a variety of summary data, and some census data, for the City’s 59 Community Districts:

A resource designed for journalists to provide an easy way to explore, visualize, and download the latest data from the American Community Survey

An alternative to the data.census.gov, they have created simple interfaces for accessing profiles for all geographies in the US (not just in Missouri), and you can compare up to four places in one profile. You can also generate reports for historical trends, and there are advanced tools for creating customized extracts for downloading data in bulk.

A library database provides census data for NYC and NYS, and is unique in that it also provides useful data outside the census (vital statistics, education data, crime, etc) for locally defined areas that are not readily available elsewhere

Official site for data published by the U.S. Census Bureau. Contains content previously available from American FactFinder including population, economic, housing, and geographic information and data about the United States, Puerto Rico, and the Island areas. Customizable views of NYC crime data.

NYPD crime statistics as recorded in the CompStat book running Monday through Sunday. All figures reflect statistics from the end of the most recent CompStat period. Data is subject to change as complaints are investigated.

Consists of four data collections: The National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS), the Summary Reporting System (SRS), the Law Enforcement Officers Killed and Assaulted (LEOKA) Program, and the Hate Crime Statistics Program.
