Teaching Forum III & IV

January 29, 2024

In this workshop, we will remix a generic, library one-shot lesson plan by leveraging the practices and dispositions of Scholarship as Conversation frame of the ACRL Framework for Information Literacy. We will begin by evaluating the frame. From there, we will examine a mock lesson plan and identify opportunities to incorporate demonstrations or activities that emphasize the practices and dispositions of frame 5. The workshop will conclude with sharing our revised lesson plans. Follow-up discussions will take place at Teaching Forum IV at the end of the spring semester to see how we’ve implemented these demonstrations or activities in our teaching.

Teaching Forum I & II

February 15, 2023

A well-crafted question can be a powerful tool for engaging students and promoting deeper understanding. But it's not just about coming up with the right question - it's also about understanding how we ask it, and how that can impact student participation and their sense of belonging. That's why this semester Teaching Forum is diving into the art of questioning. We'll explore how to plan and deliver effective questions, assess student comprehension, and create an inclusive classroom environment where all students feel comfortable participating.
