Translanguaging Pedagogy

Applying a Raciolinguistic Ideologies Framework in Our Teaching

The language practices of language-minoritized students are often deemed incorrect as measured against white, monolingual norms. In this workshop, participants learned to reimagine language learning and engage in ways that question “Standard American English” as the norm. Participants examined ways to adopt a raciolinguistic ideologies framework in their teaching through the arts, literacy texts, and multimodal learning.
