The Music Library provides recordings in three formats:

  • Physical recordings (CDs, DVDs, LPs, and more)
  • Streaming audio and video resources
  • iPods (for music majors only)

CDs, DVDs, LPs, and More!

The Music Library holds over 10,000 CDs, over 100 DVDs/Blu-ray, c. 10,000 LPs, and some VHS videos. All can be found in the CUNY Catalog (see CUNY Books, Scores, & Recordings tab in "Books & Scores").

 

Once what you need in the Catalog, take the call number to the circulation desk. You can also check out headphones.

Loan Periods:

  • Circ CDs and Schwarz CDs - 1 week
  • Reserve CDs - 2 hours
  • DVDs - 4 hours
  • VHS - 4 hours
  • LPs - 3 hours

The Music Library media center/listening area on the lower floor has equipment listening to/viewing all of these formats.

Queens College subscribes to several audio and video streaming resources that provide access to recordings not held in the Music Library.

iPods

iPods

The Music Library has 40 iPods containing the Aaron Copland School of Music listening lists for music majors to check out for one week. iPods can be renewed on a weekly basis.
